About the Musical

The Lion King Jr. is a one-act adaptation of the classic Disney tale, following young Simba, the rightful heir to the Pride Lands. After his father, King Mufasa, is killed by Simba’s jealous uncle Scar, Simba flees into exile, adopting a carefree “Hakuna Matata” lifestyle with Timon and Pumbaa. With guidance from Rafiki and encouragement from childhood friend Nala, Simba returns to confront Scar and reclaim the Pride Lands.

Principal’s Note

“I couldn’t be prouder of our students, both the cast and stage crew,” said HHMS Principal Joseph Mastropietro. “Their dedication and talent shine every time they step on stage. A heartfelt thank you to our directors, Mrs. Gallina and Mrs. Farquhar, our stage crew manager, Ms. Cappadona, and our set design leader, Kathy Stellhorn, for inspiring our students every step of the way. Hakuna Matata!”
